Kamehameha dude!

Whether this be retarded or not, isn’t it about 5 years behind the curve?

Is this serious? Because if it is, I will definitely see it.

Sup dave. Been a while since i posted here. Glad to see the comic is still up and running. This is without a doubt my favorite web comic. Anyway. Did anyone else notice the one major flaw in this preview? Thats right. Kameha-meha being used in like 5 seconds. In the show it took Goku at least 7 episodes to charge that motherfucker up.

Hmmm… sometimes I feel sorry that I don’t know anything about DB.

I WILL see it because when it bombs, I’ll be there mocking it the whole time. It’s what a true DBZ fan would do.

Also, is it just me, or did they seem to have randomly pick some person to be goku, or any other role for that matter?

I was never into DB. But even as a stand alone movie, this doesn’t look too great.
Invincible looked better than this. Let’s hope - for the fans sake - they can pull off an opposite of what Invincible did. Crap previews followed by a good movie.

I was sorely disappointed in Invincible, after it’s kinda awesome looking trailers.

No, Tamarani. The movie WILL suck, there’s no going around it. It’s basically there for the DBZ fans to reminisce about the former glory of the Saturday night cartoon, and laugh at how bad it is.

I’ll probably watch it when it comes out On Demand for old time sake. Definitely not worth a theater trip.

I predict some chemistry between Laguna Beach Goku and duel pistol wielding Bulma. Which is great because that’s what made DBZ so awesome, romantic subplots.

On Demand- when its just not worth 7 bucks…or a bootleg dvd…or the hour it takes to download from the internet.

A buddy of mine wants this movie to fail so badly that he’s threatening to stand outside the cinema handing out free bootlegs.

The criminal thing to do would be to encourage the makers of this movie by paying money for it.
Also, its not a crime if you dont get caught ! :D

Normally I’d be all about hating this movie. The Dragonball anime series has about as much depth as a snails ballsack, and about the same appeal outside of its ring of fanboys. So far, the trailer looks like it’s going to do the series justice in that respect.

However, in light of certain recent movies, I’ve come to understand the value of appreciating a shallow movie for what it is. Example: I went to go see The Spirit with some friends a few weekends back. For the first 20 minutes, we all hated it outright. The problem was we were trying to take it too seriously (a la SinCity). About the time that Samuel L. Jackson was suddenly dressed up as a samurai with intentionally fake sideburns, slicing his minions in half while cartooney explosions festooned the backdrop, we realized that this movie wasn’t SUPPOSED to be taken seriously. By the end we were laughing at every retarded one-liner (”I smell dentistry…and…Nazis”) and contrived plot-twist that it fed us: We had a great time.

That’s what I’m looking forward to doing with DB:Evolution. I’m going to walk into that theatre (possibly high), with my brain completely shut off. I will be going to see the spectacle of retardedly impractical combat scenes where people fight by shouting random shit at each other. I’m going there to see how ridiculously high-budget the effects will be. As long as this movie pushes the envelope and remains in an over-the-top stance, I’m going to enjoy it. If it tries to take itself too seriously, that’s where I’ll stop having fun.

Oh, I also would only ever want to see this movie in the theater. The spectacle would be intensified on the big screen. Watching it on my TV would just feel like a waste.

Dragon Ball Z was a magical series, Explodicide. It was the answer for any ten year old that wanted to see some action, but were stuck with the censored crap that Disney or cartoon network force fed us. Sure, it was censored too, but that didn’t change anything at all.

In retrospect, the series was absolutely terrible, but it holds a special place in my heart as one of the best animes regardless.

well i never was a DB watcher, but it filled my time as a kid when i was very, very bored.
Some fights where awesome, even if you had to watch 20 episodes to just see the guy get away in the end.

Proably will watch this movie through different channels”cough*cough” and turn it off when it starts to suck.

But the makers could have at least had the decency to cast people who resemble the cartoon figures!
Goku??come on that surfer fag looks like dawsons creek material!

its a mad world..
